An authentic Amish delicious apple crisp dessert made with fresh apples will delight you and your family or guests this Fall. This uper easy to make Amish recipe is always a hit for the holidays. INGREDIENTS

6-10 golden or red delicious apples, or granny smith apples, cored, peeled and chopped or sliced
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup of flour
1/2 cup of water
1 Tablespoon of ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon each of allspice and vanilla
1/2 stick of butter – melted

TOPPING
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1 cup old fashioned oats
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 and 1/2 cup sticks of butter 3/4 cup
1/2 cup of favorite baking nuts – we used black walnuts – chopped

HOW TO:
Preheat oven to 350 F degrees. Butter an 9×13 baking dish, or spray with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
In a mixing bowl, add chopped apples, granulated sugar, the cinnamon, allspice, and vanilla. Stir to combine, then transfer to prepared baking dish.

In a separate mixing bowl, add topping ingredients: brown sugar, oats, flour, cinnamon,, and slightly melted butter. Use a pastry cutter or you can use two forks or even your hands get the mixture to be crumbly.

Spread topping over apples in baking dish, and gently pat to even it out. Bake 40-50 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.
Serve warm and enjoy!

RECIPE NOTES
Note that all ovens bake differently, so you might need to adjust a little less or a little more time to bake.

For Reduced sugar – replace sugars with EXACT same amount sugar substitute suitable for baking like Splenda for baking or Xylitol sweetener plus 10 drops liquid Stevia.
